A clean reinstall eliminates conflicts from old packages and corrupted queues. Follow the platform‑specific steps.
Windows 11: Remove and reinstall
- Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → remove your printer.
- Control Panel → Devices and Printers → remove device if still shown.
- Advanced: printui.exe /s /t2 → remove old drivers/packages for your brand.
- Reboot the PC.
- Install the official full‑feature package for your exact model/OS.
macOS: Remove and reinstall
- System Settings → Printers & Scanners → select printer → Remove.
- Delete stale queues from /Library/Printers if needed.
- Install the brand’s latest full package (prefer vendor driver over AirPrint for features).
- Add the printer again and print a test page.
Tip: If a brand utility is offered (HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson iPrint, Brother iPrint&Scan), install it after drivers to manage settings and updates.
